![]() | How does CLIQ work?Ok this is the techie bit
In ShortThe Radio Station supplies realtime track and artist information. The Music Library supplies the tracks and data to CLIQ server. CLIQ Server sends the encrypted track and artist information to Java server (and in 2008 the DAB Multiplex network) so that they are broadcast at the same time as the Radio Station’s audio stream. CLIQ Server also compiles the data containing track details and prices. This is used at the Receiver to prompt the consumer transaction. The Receiver plays the Radio Station audio stream and decodes the CLIQ data service listing tracks available for purchase by the consumer. When the consumer buys a track, a Purchase Request is sent via the Java application to the Music Library. Once authenticated the Music Library sends a billing request to the Billing System. The confirmation message displayed to the consumer at the end of a successful transaction also tells the consumer how to pick up the download online. | |
